WHAT’S ON: INTERNATIONAL SPORTING EVENTS HIT BRISBANE THIS SUMMER

Brisbane is heating up as it gears up for an exciting line-up of international sporting events that will draw fans and athletes from across the globe.

Kicking off this Thursday with the T20 International cricket, here’s a sneak peek at some major events that sports enthusiasts in Brisbane won’t want to miss.

MEN’S 1ST T20I v PAKISTAN – Thursday 13 November

Pakistan takes on Australia in the summer’s first Men’s T20 International at the Gabba.

The Aussie side will be looking to turn things around after losing to Pakistan by 8 wickets on Sunday at Optus Stadium. Tickets here. 

BMW AUSTRALIAN PGA CHAMPIONSHIP – 21-24 November

The BMW Australian PGA Championship is one of the major highlights of this year’s summer of golf and will see the DP World Tour season commence in Brisbane at the Royal Queensland Golf Club.

A stellar field of Australian and International players including Cam Smith, Jason Day, Min Woo Lee, Cam Davis and Lucas Hebert, will compete for the Joe Kirkwood Cup and $2M in prizemoney, the richest prize on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia. Tickets here. 

COMMBANK MATILDAS V BRAZIL – Thursday 28 November

Paris 2024 Olympic silver medallists, Brazil, are heading back to Queensland for the first time since the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.

The two-match international series begins at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday 28 November (8pm local time) before heading to the Gold Coast’s Cbus Super Stadium on Sunday 1 December (6.35pm local time). Tickets here.

ODIW AUSTRALIA V INDIA – Thursday 5 December and Sunday 8th December

Women’s international cricket returns to Allan Border Field in December. They’ll play two matches here in Brisbane before heading to the WACA in Perth on December 11.

AUSTRALIA V INDIA TEST – 14-17 December

Test cricket is back at the Gabba in early December when Australia takes on India. The Brisbane event will follow tests in Perth and Adelaide, before the series heads to Melbourne and Sydney. Tickets here.

BRISBANE INTERNATIONAL TENNIS – December 29 – January 5

Reigning Australian Open champion and US Open champion Aryna Sabalenka, world No.4 Jessica Pegula and men’s stars Holger Rune and Frances Tiafoe have confirmed they’ll be competing at the tournament, alongside World No.10 and defending men’s champion Grigor Dimitrov, world No.8 Emma Navarro, French superstar Gael Monfils and Sebastian Korda.
