Home Must-do Brisbane SUMMER DIPS MAKING A SPLASH ACROSS BRISBANE

SUMMER DIPS MAKING A SPLASH ACROSS BRISBANE

Brisbane’s sizzling summer days are here, and while the weather’s been keeping us guessing with everything from blazing sunshine to surprise storms, one thing is crystal clear: it’s time to cool off!

Brisbane City Council has relaunched it’s $2 Summer Dips program, slashing the entry fee at pools across the city.

The $2 Dips program offers affordable access to 22 Council pools across Brisbane, ensuring everyone can make a splash without splashing too much cash. With the recent weather bouncing between sticky humidity and sudden downpours, a dip in the pool is the perfect way to embrace the season while staying cool and collected.

Kids will love the waterslides and splash zones, while adults can unwind in shaded lounging areas or take part in aqua classes.

Brisbane City Council has 15 pools with water play areas featuring slides, mushroom fountains, drop buckets, lily pads and more.

Hot Tips for Cool Dips

Whether you’re a casual floater, an avid lap swimmer, or a parent looking to keep kids entertained, here are a few tips to make the most of your $2 dip:

  • Pack the Sunscreen: Those UV rays don’t take holidays, even with some cloud cover.
  • Check the Weather: Keep an eye on forecasts; while pools stay open rain or shine, lightning is a no-go.
  • Bring Snacks: Many Council pools have kiosks, but a homemade picnic adds to the charm (and saves you even more money).
  • Explore New Pools: From the iconic Centenary Pool to suburban gems like Sandgate’s Aquatic Centre, each location has unique features to enjoy.
