Thousands of people gathered in Brisbane City today for the Women’s March 4 Justice.
The rally started at King George Square around midday with dance, chants and speeches.
Protesters then flooded the city streets, marching to State Parliament with participants describing the day as empowering.
On the Facebook event page, organisers wrote “we are marching to end the structural systems that benefit and maintain the patriarchy and we all have our own personal and collective reasons for wishing to be involved,”
“We are an inclusive group and we welcome all who wish to voice their outrage at the injustice experienced by women and all those that are vulnerable,”
Men were also welcome to join the march, but as allies.
The March 4 Justice campaign is also strengthening on social media – the hashtags #march4justice and #enoughisenough are trending.
