In March, Special Olympics Queensland (SOQ) is holding its state trials in various locations across Brisbane.
At Shorncliffe the sailing heats are expected to heat up this weekend, with competitions running on the 13th and 14th.
Sailability Shorncliffe will be supplying the vessels and volunteers from the National Australia Bank will be timekeepers.
The competitions will be broken down into various categories, in a similar fashion to the Paralympics.
They will consist of Solo Skippers, Skippers with a Coach, and Skippers with an Assistant.
Cabbage Tree Creek will play host to the racing between 9.30am and 3pm on each of the days (pending wind and conditions).
If you want to witness the action, pick a spot along the foreshore between Friday Street and Jetty Street, adjacent to Allpass Parade.
