While Easter is seen as a time of indulgence and play for the kids and the obvious boon of a day or two off work for adults, there will be more than enough for everyone to enjoy right across Brisbane. We’ve done the hopping around for you through our guide to free and low-cost activities with something for everyone.
Roma Street Parkland
Roma Street will be hosting free activities from 9am through to 1pm Friday the 3rd to Monday the 6th of April. Activities include Easter egg hunts, hat crafting, parades, parties and shows. To make sure the little ones aren’t forced to survive off their forage over the long weekend, a variety of food trucks will be available. On Sunday, the Easter Bunny will make an appearance, expecting plenty of attention for setting up the egg hunt the night before! Roma Street’s Easter activities are certainly going to appeal to any little ones that need their hunting fix. Get the full details here.

West End Markets
An inner-Brisbane institution, the West End Markets will be getting an Easter makeover on Easter Sunday. Special activities, themed food, and live performances will make the markets even better. Window shopping is already enjoyable at any market, but with even more to look at, the West End Markets will be a highlight of any Easter Sunday outing.
Howard Smith Wharves
From the 5th to the 20th of April, Felons Brewing Co will be hosting Easter activities and streaming AFL and NRL games outdoors. While a fortnight of Easter fun might be a bit much for the average Joe, the main event is the artist market kicking things off on the 5th. More than 70 stalls full of food and bespoke items will be ready and waiting to be snatched up. Late morning on the 4th and 5th, Felons will also be hosting special free Easter activities. Face painting and balloon twisting for the kids, reptile shows and arcade games for everyone. The full schedule is here.

Victoria Park
Time is running out to enjoy Victoria Park as we know it, and they will be hosting activities across the entire long weekend. Putt Putt may end up being the last thing you get to during a day at the park. Life-sized Easter decorations set the mood, and a jumping castle is ready to burn off the kilojoules from the food trucks. If that’s not enough, craft activities and lawn games are also on offer. With free entry, it’s a perfect Easter outing.

Smaller events are also being organised across Brisbane’s suburbs.
Councillor Lucy Collier is organising a community Easter egg hunt inside Hawthorne Park on Saturday the 4th of April. Some may find a small-stakes egg hunt much more relaxing than fighting through crowds of families in the city. Everyone gets eggs and there’s no risk of losing anyone among the ocean of children. Arts and crafts, as well as a visit from the Easter Bunny, are sure to cap off what will be a wonderful day for families.

From the 2nd to the 4th of April, Lower Moora Park, Shorncliffe will be abuzz with festivities for the annual Bluewater Festival. From 4PM-8PM on Thursday the 2nd of April, the park will include food trucks, rides, and a side show alley featuring pop-up music and entertainment. The fun continues the next day, with the 3rd of April going from 9:30 AM all the way until 8 PM. Food trucks will accompany markets with something for everyone. From 11:30 AM, the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance on the main stage. From 12 noon, live music will keep the party going into the night. A spectacular fireworks show over the water will wrap things up at 7:30PM.
But all things must come to an end. The 4th of April will see rides and sideshow alleys from 12PM-8PM – a perfect opportunity to get on the rides you missed or buy the trinket that’s been on your mind.
