2021 – a year defined by COVID (on repeat), winning the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and also lots of pandemic babies!

But what names took out the top spots for most popular in the sunshine state?

For baby girls the most popular name was…*drumroll*…Isla!

347 babies were named Isla last year, knocking off long-time favourite Charlotte

For boys it was Oliver with 506 – Oliver has been topping the QLD charts for 9 years now.

Henry replaced Jack in third place and Charlie replaced Thomas in the only change to the top ten names for boys.

Meanwhile, Matilda and Lily were newcomers to the girls’ top 10, replacing Sophie and Harper.
