LOVE A FUN RUN? HERE’S WHERE TO GET YOUR FIX IN 2025

The popularity of social running has boomed over the last few years. From Park Run to run clubs, it’s clear that many locals love the social side of hitting the pavement.

For some, it’s the competition of running beside others or being timed to beat a PB. For others it’s having a chat along the way. Whatever your motive, here’s a list of fun runs scheduled for Brisbane and surrounds this year.

5K Foam Fest – February 8-9, 2025

This wildly popular event at Sirromet Wines in Mount Cotton isn’t your typical fun run. Expect inflatable obstacles, mud pits, and lots of foam! Perfect for anyone who loves a mix of fitness and fun.

International Women’s Day Fun Run – March 9, 2025

One of Brisbane’s most beloved charity runs, this event supports Mater Chicks in Pink and raises awareness for breast cancer. The scenic 5K route takes runners from South Bank through the City Botanic Gardens.

Moggill Marathon – May 18, 2025

A community-driven marathon set in the picturesque western suburbs of Brisbane. The event includes 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and full-marathon options, making it a fantastic choice for all levels of runners.

Brisbane Marathon Festival – June 1, 2025

Offering distances from 2.2K to the full marathon, this event caters to all fitness levels. The route takes runners through some of Brisbane’s most iconic landmarks, making it a bucket-list race.

Jetty to Jetty – July 20, 2025

Held along the stunning Redcliffe Peninsula just over the bridge from Brisbane, this event features 3K, 5K, 10K, and half-marathon distances. It’s one of Queensland’s longest-running fun runs and offers breath-taking coastal views along the way.

Bridge to Brisbane – September 14, 2025

Brisbane’s biggest fun run is back, with 5K and 10K courses that take runners over the Gateway Bridge. The atmosphere is electric, and there’s plenty of entertainment along the way.

So, lace up your sneakers, find a group near you, and hit the pavement. The joy of running is even greater when shared.
