TAKE 3-DAYS LEAVE AND SCORE A 10-DAY BREAK THIS MONTH

If you’re hanging out for a break, here’s some good news – Easter and Anzac Day fall perfectly this year for Brisbane workers looking to stretch their annual leave into a decent holiday.

With a little planning (and a quick chat with your boss), you could turn just a few days of leave into a 10-day getaway — right when the Brisbane weather is at its absolute best.

April is one of the best times of year to holiday in and around Brisbane. The weather is still warm enough for the beach but without the sticky summer humidity.

Here’s How It Works.

Good Friday lands on 18 April 2025, with the Easter long weekend running through to Easter Monday on 21 April. Then, just a few days later, Anzac Day falls on Friday 25 April — giving you two long weekends in the space of one week.

By booking annual leave on the days in between — Tuesday 22 April, Wednesday 23 April and Thursday 24 April — you can turn that run of public holidays into a glorious 10-day break from Friday 18 April to Sunday 27 April.

That’s 10 days off… using just 3 days of leave.

And if you’ve got a bit of extra leave up your sleeve? Why not take Monday 28 April too and make it a full 11-day holiday.

And those workers in essential roles who work over the public holidays – we appreciate you!
