HOLD ONTO YOUR HATS: EKKA WINDS HIT SEQ EARLY

Brisbane is in for a windy and cold day as a strong cold front moves through southern Queensland. It’s likely to feel much colder than the thermometer says today, with expected gusty westerly winds, with speeds between 15 and 30 km/h and occasional gusts up to 45 km/h. The wind will make it feel colder than the actual temperature.

Daytime temperatures in Brisbane are forecast to reach a maximum of around 17°C, but the wind chill will make it feel closer to 10°C at times. Overnight, temperatures are expected to drop to about 8°C. There’s little chance of rain, and skies will be mostly clear, but the wind will be the main feature.

The cold snap is expected to last for a couple of days, with below-average temperatures and persistent breezy conditions. People are advised to dress warmly, secure any loose outdoor items, and take care if cycling or driving in exposed areas.

Stay warm Brisbane!
