Spring has sprung and it’s time to get a spring in your step because it’s QLD Walks Month.
QLD Walks raises awareness and encourages people to transport actively.
This year the theme for QLD Walks Month is ‘Celebrate Walking: Every Body, Every Place’.
The theme is “designed to focus on walking for all, and in all places in Queensland.” – QLD Walks
“We aim to encourage Queenslanders to share walking stories, emphasise the importance and value of walking, and highlight ways to improve the walkability of our neighbourhoods.”
“Anyone can get involved. It’s fun and free.”
You can participate as an individual or a team, motivating each other and your community to get out and move more.
The month is to also shine light on accessibility issues across our city.
Great to see Anna from QLD Walks taking over the @WeAreBrisbane account this week for the start of QLD Walks month. 40% of Brisbane streets don't have any footpath and there are over 1,100 broken footpaths on the repair wait list. The LNP Lord Mayor should hang his head in shame. https://t.co/OYMF2R25jG
