For a second year, the Ekka has been cancelled due to COVID-19.

The Ekka public holiday which was supposed to fall on August 11 has also been postponed until later this year. The new date is yet to be set.

The cancellation is a huge blow for our country and carnie folk who rely on the annual Royal Brisbane Show for an income and their livelihood.

It’s also a big hit for Brisbane’s community moral. Ekka 2021 was set to be spectacular with fire works, beef competitions, amazing night shows and of course delicious food.

But there is one way you can still enjoy the Ekka:
