DON’T LIKE FOOTY? HERE’S WHAT ELSE IS ON IN BRISBANE.

Brisbane is buzzing this week with a mix of sport, culture, and family fun. From blockbuster finals to colourful festivals and creative showcases, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as the September school holidays roll on.

Before you dive in, remember that this is the last week of the Brisbane Festival, and you can check out the remaining events for that here.

🎨 Thursday 25 September

  • Pop Art After Dark – Westfield Chermside
    If you’re lucky enough to read this just in time, for one night only, the Dome at Westfield Chermside transforms into a bold, pop-art playground inspired by Craig & Karl. Expect colour, music, and interactive fun.
  • Live Music at the Livewire
    Located on Level 5 at The Star Brisbane, Livewire has a rolling program of live, local music. Check out this weekend’s program here: LiveWire | The Star
  • The Bogong’s Song
    Starting tonight and showing until October 4, The Bogong’s Song is a rich blend of storytelling, shadow puppetry, dance, and song created especially for primary-aged children. Tickets: The Bogong’s Song – Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC)
  • Stories from the Sea – Queensland Museum Kurilpa
    School holiday fun for the kids as they learn about the mysteries of the seas. Your Stories from the Sea ticket will unlock a day of fun across the museum with a range of school holiday activities. Runs through the school holidays. Tickets
  • Free event: Skylore – Nieergoo: Spirit of the Whale
    Watch as hundreds of drones soar above the Brisbane River as Traditional Owner Yuggera and Toorabul man Shannon Ruska and Tribal Experiences retell this powerful story of Culture, Country, and connection to place, with original composition by Guy Webster. 7:15pm, 8:15pm and 9:15pm each night on 25, 26 and 27 September.

🎶 Friday 26 September

  • 16 Lovers Lane – QPAC Concert Hall
    Relive the iconic Go-Betweens album with a live performance celebrating one of Brisbane’s most beloved bands.
  • Oktoberfest at Eat Street Northshore
    Dust off the lederhosen for a riverside celebration of German food, beer, and music (continues through the weekend).
  • Good Food & Wine Show
    It’s the last day of Australia’s favourite culinary celebration! Discover more than 300 exhibitors serving up Australia’s finest gourmet produce, boutique wines, artisan cheeses, and handcrafted spirits — ready for you to sip, sample, shop, and savour.
  • Taiwan Night Market Returns
    From the 26th – 27th, UQ TAISA brings their Taiwan Night Market to Forgan Smith Lawn at UQ. Open to the public for two nights of iconic Taiwanese food, music, and culture.

🎭 Saturday 27 September

  • Brisbane Pickleball Classic – Queensland Tennis Centre
    A new tournament showcasing one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.
  • Creative Glass Showcase – Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens
    Discover handmade glass art in a stunning natural setting.
  • Lime Cordiale with Queensland Symphony Orchestra – Fortitude Music Hall
    A one-night-only collaboration blending indie pop with orchestral power.
  • Brighton Bowls Club Turns 75
    One of Australia’s most iconic sports meets a major local milestone. This weekend kicks off a ten-day celebration of bowls, music, and entertainment.

🎉 Sunday 28 September

  • Brisbane’s Annual Wedding Expo – BCEC
    Over 120 vendors under one roof, perfect for couples planning their big day. More details here.
  • Paddington Tram Fire Commemoration
