It’s time for some good news.

Homeless Connect is on again this Thursday (20 May 2021) at the Brisbane Showgrounds.

It’s a one-stop-shop for those experiencing homelessness.

A place where warm hearts and community generosity brings hope and help to those who may need it.

Guests can access a wealth of employment, legal and government services.

They can also get a haircut, have a health check and learn about housing options.

“There is also a donations room where guests will find clothes, food, bedding, toiletries and much more” – Volunteering Queensland.

Homeless Connect is a joint initiative with Brisbane City Council and Volunteering Queensland.

Thousands of dollars in donations were received this year including three trolleys full of groceries from The Vietnamese Mutual Assistance Queensland.

It’s welcome kindness with more than 100,000 people sleeping rough in Australia every night.

“No one plans this life for themselves, nor do they plan on the complex range of issues that led them to this point” – Volunteering Queensland.
