Though in its 45th iteration, they’ve adjusted things in these COVID-safe times.

Paniyiri won’t be in Musgrave Park this year.

Instead it will be taking place at the Greek Club in South Brisbane with virtual and live-streamed versions of the event also on offer.

Entry is free, however some events will require a ticket.

Get your Greek on with the traditional cooking demonstrations, cultural exhibitions and lectures, Greek dances (celebrity dancers plus the Hellenic Dancers), and of course live music.

There will be a fashion parade on the Friday night, and a Greek Taverna on the Saturday evening.

It’s pretty amazing that an event started by a group of Greek Australians could be going this long (starting in ’76), and giving us the chance to learn about and experience their culture.

As mentioned earlier, everything will be live-streamed online (by the looks of it some things will be delivered virtually – good time to own a VR set).
