Brisbane Gears Up for AFL Grand Final Week with Free Family Fun
Brisbane is set to come alive this week as the city celebrates the Brisbane Lions’ third consecutive Toyota AFL Grand Final appearance, with a jam-packed program of free, family-friendly activities across the city.
With the school holidays in full swing, families are being encouraged to head along to Brighton Homes Arena, Post Office Square, and New Farm Park to soak up the atmosphere and join in the festivities.
From Today through to Saturday, fans will be treated to a wide variety of activities, including:
- 🏉 AFL Play clinics and inflatable handball targets
- 🎨 Face painting and bubbles for the kids
- 🛍️ Brisbane Lions merchandise stalls
- 🎁 Giveaways and competitions
- 📸 Photo opportunities with club mascot Roy
- 📝 Registrations for NAB AFL Auskick, Superkick, and AFL Nines
- 📺 Live coverage of the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final on a big screen at New Farm Park
Head of AFL Queensland and International, Trisha Squires, congratulated the Lions on their remarkable achievement.
“The Lions are the pride of Brisbane and we want everyone in the city to have the opportunity to love and connect with our game during this monumental week,” she said.
The celebrations will culminate on Saturday 27 September, when New Farm Park hosts a massive Grand Final Watch Party. Fans can gather from 8:30am, with activities running throughout the day before the Lions face Geelong at the Melbourne Cricket Ground at 2:30pm.

The Brisbane Lions will take on Geelong in the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final on Saturday 27 September at the MCG, with the match broadcast live and free on Channel 7 and 7plus.
