Hocus Pocus Halloween in Bulimba Memorial Park

Hocus Pocus Halloween returns to Bulimba Memorial Park, proudly supported by Downtown Toyota and Councillor Lucy Collier. Families can enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with lollies, a kids’ disco, inflatables, live entertainment, games, food trucks, and more. Come dressed in your best costume for the chance to win fantastic prizes, either solo or as a group. This free community event promises a spooky yet family-friendly celebration for all ages.

Monster Mash – Calamvale Halloween Party In The Park

Get ready for a monstrously fun night at the Monster Mash on Wednesday 30 October at Calamvale District Park, hosted by Councillor Emily Kim. From 4–8pm, families can enjoy a kids’ disco, free jumping castles, face painting, thrilling games, and plenty of spooky surprises. Food trucks will be on hand to keep everyone fuelled, while little ghouls and goblins show off their best costumes for a night of dancing and laughter.

Bands in Parks: Ampol Wynnum Halloween Parade

On the 25th of October, Wynnum’s spookiest night is back! Join the Ampol Wynnum Halloween Parade on Bay Terrace, with Trick or Treat from 4pm, food trucks, markets, live entertainment, and the parade at 6pm featuring Bayside Brass playing Halloween classics. Costumes encouraged—fun for the whole family!

Looking for a fun, free activity for the kids before the parade? Drop into Wynnum Library on Saturday 25 October, 2–4pm for spooky craft fun, perfect for ages 4–8. No bookings needed—just bring your little monsters along for some hands‑on Halloween creativity!

Gumtreekids messy play – Not too scary Halloween theme

Bring the kids along to Carindale Recreation Reserve on Saturday 25 October, 10:00–11:30am for 1.5 hours of sensory messy play, designed for children aged 6 months to 7 years. These hands‑on sessions spark creativity and curiosity through touch, sight, and smell, using only safe, non‑toxic, food‑based materials. Allergy‑friendly trays can be prepared on request, so every child can join in the fun. Can’t make it? Head to the Brisbane City Council’s events page and search “gumtree messy play” for more dates, times and locations closer to home. Bookings are essential.

OFRENDA – La vida y la muerte

From 31 October to 3 November 2025, the Cempoaxochitl Arts Collective presents OFRENDA – La vida y la muerte at Vacant Assembly, West End. This powerful exhibition honours Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) with works from more than 20 Mexican and diaspora artists, centred around a collaborative community altar. Visitors can experience a rich program of art, music, dance, food, and cultural traditions, with special events including an Opening Night celebration (31 Oct), Market Day (1 Nov), and Community Day (2 Nov). Entry ranges from free to $25, with bookings required for some sessions.

What’s in the Woods? Halloween Special – Backbone Theatre For Babies

Celebrate Halloween with a special Pumpkin-palooza edition of What’s In The Woods? at Seven Hills Hub on Saturday 1 November, 8:30–9:15am. Designed for ages 0–3, this gentle theatre experience combines performance, puppetry, and play in a cosy woodland setting filled with pumpkins, surprises, and sensory exploration. Families can enjoy an interactive campfire story before little ones embark on their own adventure through the woods. Sessions run in age-specific groups, with full accessibility, pram parking, and baby-friendly facilities provided. Bookings required.
