A stunning photographic collection that won its creators International Photographers of the Year is coming to Brisbane’s Maud St Photo Gallery from 22 October to 12 November.

Created using a Polaroid format that had never before been used underwater, the stunning nude images for ‘Floating Bits’ were shot in the crystal-clear waters off the island of Niue, where visibility after rain is up to 60 to 100 metres due to the limestone in the geography.

Artists Ian and Erick Regnard originally went to the location with their model to capture her interacting up close with whales, but when the whales didn’t show they got creative and ended up shooting the images that have won them accolades around the world.

The collection has never been seen on Australia’s East Coast, but with Erick Regnard now living in Brisbane after recently moving from Perth, the ‘Floating Bits’ exhibition is his way of introducing himself to his new hometown.
