They did us so proud at the Toyko Olympic and Paralympic games and now they finally get the hometown recognition they deserve.

On Friday 8th of October Brisbane’s CBD played host to a welcome home parade for Queensland Olympians and Paralympics.

The celebrations recognise one of Australia’s most successfully Olympics and Paralympic campaigns with 13 gold, 4 silver and 11 bronze medals.

“Queensland performed better than most countries,” the Premier said.

“If Queensland was a nation, we would have ranked seventh on the medal tally – ahead of the Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy.”
